For Veterinary Technicians

Built for the technician profession — not as an afterthought.

RVTs, LVTs, CVTs, VTS candidates, vet assistants. AAVSB RACE-CE for technicians as a first-class body of CE. VTS portfolio compilers for AVECCT, AVMET, AVDT, and 13+ academies. State-registry-aware compliance. Scope-of-practice-tagged courses. The skill-competency ledger you actually need.

What you get as a technician on urVetEdu

Built for the workflow you actually run, not a DVM-first afterthought.

NAVTA + State Registries

A platform that knows your credential

AAVSB RACE-CE for technicians is a separate body of approved CE from the DVM track. Your renewal cycle in California (RVT), Texas (LVT), Missouri (RVT), New York (LVT), Florida (CVT), and 30+ other states is also separate from a vet's — different hour minimums, different categories, different boards. The compliance card shows your profession's requirements, not a DVM's.

VTS Academy Support

Portfolio compiler for AVECCT, AVMET, AVDT, and 13+ academies

VTS applications are a multi-year effort across case logs, case reports, skill checklists, and CE hours specific to your specialty. The VTS portfolio compiler ingests case logs with category auto-tagging mapped to your academy's taxonomy, tracks remaining-by-category in real time ("3 of 5 trauma cases"), holds the skill checklist with DVM countersignature workflow, and exports a submission packet in the format your academy accepts.

Clinic CE Coordinator

A dashboard for the tech who runs CE for the whole team

If you handle CE compliance for a multi-tech clinic, the coordinator dashboard rolls up every team member's compliance card on one screen: name, license, jurisdiction, hours-met, deadline countdown, gap-by-category. Bulk actions to assign required ethics CE to amber-status staff. Track clinic-paid CE budget against per-tech allocations.

Scope-of-Practice Tagging

Courses tell you what you can actually perform in your state

A course on central venous catheter placement is legal for an RVT in some states under direct supervision and illegal in others. Course detail pages show in-scope/out-of-scope per your jurisdiction + profession — including provisional license status. No more registering for a skill course you can't legally practice.

Skill-Competency Ledger

A competency record separate from credit-hour totals

Hours-in-a-chair is not the same as "I can do this procedure unsupervised at 2 AM." A skill ledger tracks per-procedure attempts logged, supervisor sign-offs (DVM or senior RVT), date of most-recent successful unsupervised performance, and re-cert reminders for skills you haven't performed in 6+ months. Upload a 90-second clip of your IV placement; get peer-rubric-scored; ledger row written.

Procedure Micro-Learning

12-minute modules tied to tomorrow's patient

Have a 6-month-old brachycephalic for surgery at 8 AM? Pull up a 12-minute "anesthesia monitoring for brachycephalic patients" module on your phone at 7:45 with a checklist you keep open during induction. Five-to-fifteen-minute targeted modules paired with QR codes you can print and place in clinic bays. CE credit logged automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Built from real questions credentialed technicians ask.

Does urVetEdu support my state's technician registry?

AAVSB RACE-CE for technicians is supported as a separate body of approved CE from DVM CE. Per-state technician registries (California RVT, Texas LVT, Missouri RVT, New York LVT, Florida CVT, and 30+ others) are first-class in the compliance engine. If your state isn't mapped yet, let us know.

What VTS academies are supported?

The portfolio compiler infrastructure works for any of the 16 NAVTA-recognized VTS academies (AVECCT, AVMET, AVDT, AVNT, AIMVT, etc.). Academy-specific case-category taxonomy and skill-checklist templates are seeded for AVECCT first; others light up as cohorts join.

Can I track skills I performed under supervision?

Yes. The skill-competency ledger separates "attempts logged" from "supervised sign-off" from "most-recent unsupervised performance." DVMs and senior RVTs can countersign at any tier. Each sign-off is a W3C verifiable credential signed by the supervising DVM's key.

What if my clinic doesn't have urVetEdu yet?

You can sign up as an individual technician; your record is yours and travels with you. CE hours, skill sign-offs, VTS portfolio progress — all portable via W3C verifiable credentials. If your clinic wants to consolidate, point them at /lms/for-practices.

How much does it cost for an individual technician?

Course pricing varies by author. Most RACE-approved technician CE courses are in the $15–$75 range. We never charge a subscription for individual technicians.

Built for vet assistants and front-desk staff too?

Yes. Multi-credential profiles handle the transitions: assistant → RVT student → RVT → VTS candidate → VTS. State-specific assistant certifications (Texas ECVT, etc.) and clinic-internal training are supported.

The technician profession deserves better infrastructure.

Sign up as an individual technician, or point your clinic at our practice plan to consolidate CE management for the whole team.
