Built for the path you're actually on.
For graduates of non-AVMA-accredited veterinary programs pursuing US or Canadian licensure. ECFVG and PAVE pathway tracking. NAVLE prep tuned to foreign-grad weak spots. CPE clinical case practice with the actual grading criteria. Mentor matching with vets who walked your same path. Visa-aware content tagged to your profile.
What you get as an ECFVG or PAVE candidate
Six capabilities designed for the journey from international veterinary degree to US licensure.
A pathway type designed for the path you're actually on
urVetEdu's learning pathways support a licensure_eligibility track that mirrors the ECFVG and PAVE certification programs step-by-step: registration, English proficiency (TOEFL/IELTS), BCSE (within the 5-year validity window), NAVLE (5-attempt rule tracked), CPE Step 1 through Step 7 (or PAVE QSE + SCT for the PAVE path). The gap analysis tells you what's next and when each deadline expires.
Question banks tagged for foreign-grad weak areas
urVetEdu tags question banks by foreign-grad weak areas: USDA accredited-vet duties, Category I/II inspection, US drug scheduling under the DEA, reportable diseases by state, common North American parasitology (heartworm, Lyme, RMSF, EPM, anaplasmosis), production-animal medicine if your training was companion-heavy. Standard NAVLE banks add this layer.
Practice the seven CPE sections against published grading criteria
Mock CPE-format stations across small animal medicine, surgery, anesthesia, radiology, large animal, food safety, and ambulatory. Per-criterion rubric scoring against the published CPE grading criteria. Practice the format before you fly to a CPE site and pay $7,500 to find out you weren't ready.
Book 30 minutes with someone who walked your path
The ECFVG-mentor filter scopes the tutor marketplace to mentors who hold their own ECFVG certificate (or PAVE equivalent), filtered by country of origin and current US state. Book a 30-minute consult with a vet who graduated from Madras now licensed in Texas, or from CEU Madrid now licensed in Ontario. That conversation is worth more than any course.
Content surfacing tagged by visa status, not legal advice
H-4 EAD-status guidance, the OPT clock for foreign-trained vets who did a US residency, H-1B sponsorship as a vet (rare, possible at corporate groups), states that allow provisional licensure pre-CPE. Curated, not legal advice — and tagged to your profile so you see only what applies to your situation.
SOAP and rounds presentation in US case-presentation style
Case-presentation in US-rounds style is structurally different from how most non-US programs teach. Video skill upload → rubric scoring on SOAP-format verbal presentation, client communication, technician handoff. Built on the same proctored-exam infrastructure used for skill assessment elsewhere on the platform.
Frequently asked questions
Real questions from real internationally-trained candidates.
I haven't passed BCSE yet. Can I still use the platform?
Yes. The platform serves you at every step of the pathway. Your profile licensure_status begins as pre-ECFVG; the compliance card shows ECFVG/PAVE eligibility milestones instead of CE renewal hours. You can take prep courses, practice CPE cases, and book ECFVG-mentor office hours before you've started any official step.
Is the NAVLE prep different from Zuku or VetPrep?
NAVLE prep on urVetEdu adds two layers Zuku/VetPrep don't: (a) question-bank tagging by foreign-grad weak areas so the adaptive engine can drill the topics you specifically need, (b) course-aware Q&A grounded in NAVLE blueprint topics so you can ask questions about the material at 2 AM. Many candidates use multiple prep platforms.
What about PAVE candidates?
PAVE is a parallel pathway to ECFVG and is fully supported. PAVE-specific milestones (QSE, SCT registration, mock SCT practice) are first-class. PAVE-certified mentors appear in the mentor-matching filter.
I'm on an H-4 EAD. Can I work as a vet anywhere in the US once certified?
We don't give legal immigration advice. We do tag content by visa status (H-4 EAD, OPT, H-1B sponsorship contexts, states that allow provisional licensure pre-CPE) so you can find resources that apply to your situation. For specific immigration questions, please consult an immigration attorney.
What does the platform cost as a foreign-trained vet candidate?
Course pricing varies by author. Many ECFVG-pathway courses are subsidized through institutional sponsorships. NAVLE prep is in the $200-$400 range for full bank access. ECFVG-mentor office hours are typically $50-$150 for a 30-minute consult. We never charge a subscription.
I have peers from my college who passed. Can they mentor on this platform?
Yes. If they hold ECFVG certification and a current US license, they can apply as mentors. Mentor verification is gated by ≥1 W3C verifiable credential (typically their ECFVG certificate or US state license). Cross-cohort mentor networks are exactly the demographic the marketplace was designed for.
You've done the hard part — earned your veterinary degree.
The platform should see you. Sign up to track your pathway, book mentor time with someone who walked it, and prep for NAVLE the way it should be prepared for.
