What you get as an author on urVetEdu

Six capabilities that respect your time as a clinician-educator.

Author-First Economics

70/30 author split. RACE submission included.

Standard author split is 70% to you, 30% to urVetEdu — moving to 80/20 on courses priced $199+. RACE submission fees and program-sponsor administration are absorbed in the platform fee, not billed separately. Compare to VetMedTeam (60/40) or VIN (~50/50). On a typical $179 course with 412 enrollments, your net is $58,998 — about $14,750 more than the same course on VetMedTeam.

Content Ownership

You own your content. 90-day takedown right.

Your scripts, slides, videos, and case write-ups are yours. urVetEdu holds a non-exclusive license to distribute. You can pull a course off the platform with 90-day notice; existing enrollees keep their credit, and W3C verifiable credentials they've earned still verify against your institution's signing key.

RACE Lifecycle Automation

Bulk re-approval that saves 6 hours per cycle

RACE approval expires every 2 years. Today: 6 hours per cycle filling AAVSB submission forms, gathering updated bibliographies, tracking deadlines per course. urVetEdu surfaces an expiring-soon column with 90/60/30-day flags. Check 5 courses, click "Submit for re-approval" — the platform auto-fills the AAVSB form fields. You review, sign, submit.

Revenue Dashboard

Monthly gross, net, refunds, 1099-NEC YTD — one page

Per-course revenue dashboard: monthly enrollments, gross revenue, platform fee, refunds, your net, next payout date, 1099-NEC YTD running total. Payouts onboarding takes 5 minutes; payouts monthly on the 15th; 1099 issued by January 31. No more reading quarterly PDF statements to figure out what you made.

Live Cohort SKU

Sell recorded AND a live cohort. Same content, two SKUs.

Your $179 recorded course is one product. A $349 quarterly live cohort with Q&A using the same content is a second SKU. Different price point, different audience, no double-authoring. Live cohort uses cohort messaging + Live Studio whiteboard, and the platform handles registration caps, cancellation, and waitlist.

Co-Author + Royalty Splits

Bring residents into authorship with auditable splits

Configure per-course royalty splits between you, co-authors, and research-assistant contributors (e.g. 80/15/5). Permission tiers: co-author with full edit rights, contributor with attribution and no edit rights post-submission. Splits disburse automatically each month. Audit log of who touched what.

Frequently asked questions

Real questions from authors evaluating where to publish their next course.

Do I need an institutional affiliation to author here?

No. Independent authors are first-class. Your course can attach to urVetEdu as the sponsoring institution (we hold the RACE program-sponsor relationship), to one of our partner institutions, or to your own RACE program number if you already hold one.

Who handles RACE submission?

urVetEdu by default. We are listed as the RACE Program Sponsor of record for courses we host. AAVSB fees are absorbed in the platform fee, not billed to you. If you hold your own RACE program number, you can — we provide the submission-packet generator and you submit on your own letterhead.

What about content ownership?

Yours. Non-exclusive license to urVetEdu to distribute while the course is on the platform. 90-day takedown right. Existing enrolled students keep their access and their already-earned W3C verifiable credentials remain valid. No content-lock-in.

Can I bring co-authors and residents into a course?

Yes. Per-course royalty splits (you set them), permission tiers, audit log of who touched what. Splits disburse automatically each month. Residents typically receive 5-20% on courses they contributed to.

How does the floor guarantee work?

For authors with 5+ existing RACE-approved courses migrating their catalog, we offer a Year-1 floor guarantee of $5,000 in net author revenue — if your courses earn less than that in their first 12 months, we refund our platform fee until you hit the floor.

When and how are payouts made?

Monthly, on the 15th, via direct deposit. Payouts onboarding takes 5 minutes. 1099-NEC issued by January 31. Net-30 from each course's revenue recognition. International authors (Canada, UK, AU, EU) supported via our international payouts processor (Canada, UK, AU, EU).

Ready to move your catalog where the economics make sense?

If you have 5+ existing RACE-approved courses, ask about the Year-1 floor guarantee. Otherwise, our author-onboarding team will walk you through course migration, RACE program-sponsor selection, and payouts onboarding setup in under a week.
